How Much Room Does the Voice Caddie SC4 Pro Need Indoors?

For an indoor SC4 Pro setup, Voice Caddie recommends placing the launch monitor about 5 feet behind the ball and keeping about 10 feet between the ball and the net or impact screen. That is roughly 15 feet from the SC4 Pro to the target before you add any clearance behind the screen. The unit also needs to sit level with the hitting surface and line up directly with the target.

Plan around 5 feet behind the ball and 10 feet in front

The SC4 Pro is a rear-mounted radar unit. It sits behind the golfer on the target line instead of beside the ball, so room depth is part of the tracking setup.

Voice Caddie's manual says to place the unit "on the ground 5ft behind ball and/or tee" and notes that the spot may need adjusting for the club, such as a driver on a tee versus a short iron. Its FAQ recommends 10 feet from the ball to a net or screen. If you are building around an impact screen, remember that the screen may need additional space behind it to move safely.

Keep the monitor level with the ball

Voice Caddie's FAQ asks for the base of the SC4 Pro to be level with the top of the hitting surface. This is easy to miss when the golfer stands on a thick mat and the launch monitor sits on bare concrete several inches lower.

If you need to raise the monitor, use a stable, level platform. Do not solve the height difference by tilting the unit.

Make alignment repeatable

The red alignment mark on top of the SC4 Pro should run through the ball toward the target. Because the monitor is portable, it is also easy to put it back a few degrees off line each time you practice.

In a permanent room, a small floor mark for the ball and another for the launch monitor can make setup faster and more consistent.

You do not need a projector to use it

The SC4 Pro has its own display, so it works as a stand-alone launch monitor with a net. For virtual play on a larger display, Voice Caddie lists E6 Connect compatibility and includes a complimentary E6 Connect package with five courses and a driving range.

That allows a staged build: the monitor, mat, and a safe net first, a television or projector later.

Tracking distance is only one room requirement

The 5-foot and 10-foot numbers tell you how the radar wants to be arranged. They do not tell you whether the golfer can swing comfortably.

Check ceiling height and side clearance from the actual mat with the longest club you expect to use. In a tight room, the swing can become the limiting factor even when the SC4 Pro tracking distances fit.
