About, disclosure & privacy

Who runs this site, how it makes money, and what happens to your data.

About this site

The Sim Room is an independent publication about planning a home golf simulator room, run by one person. It is not a retailer, an installer or a design service, and it is not owned by or affiliated with any manufacturer. The publisher can be reached through the contact form.

How this site makes money

No link on this site earns a fee apart from the store cards described below. Commissions do not affect what the room size calculator returns or which listings are shown.

The cards marked “Omaha Sports & Games” are affiliate links to that store through impact.com. If you buy there after clicking one, the store pays this site a commission; the price you pay does not change. Product images come from the store listings, and prices are the store's list prices on the date shown next to them, so confirm the price on the store before buying.

Every page with one of these links says so in one line under its title.

Terms of use

Everything here is general information, not advice. This site is not a structural, engineering, building-code or financial service, and the room size calculator does not produce a construction drawing or certify compliance with any code. Dimensions come from published manufacturer and retailer specifications, which change without notice; measure your own room and confirm with the supplier before buying. Decisions made on the basis of this site are your own, and The Sim Room is not liable for the result, as far as the law allows. If a figure here is wrong, say so through the form below and it will be corrected.

Room measurements. The calculator handles measurements in your browser rather than submitting them to a form or server API. Hosting and page-performance data are described below. If you use its share link, the measurements travel in the part of the address after the # sign, which stays in your browser history and can be read by anyone you send the link to. “Save on this device” writes the room to your browser's local storage. The site's pages read those saved records to show Continue and re-check prompts; they are not uploaded by the calculator. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Contact form. The name, email address and message you enter go to Formspree, a third-party form processor, which forwards them to the publisher by email. They are used to handle your inquiry. For questions about a submission, its retention or deletion, use the form below. Formspree's linked policy describes its own processing.

Hosting and analytics. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes request data, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the service, and which adds a cookie-less Web Analytics beacon for page views and performance metrics. Cloudflare says Web Analytics does not track individual users across its customers' sites. See its data collection documentation and privacy policy for the distinction between analytics and hosting/security data.

Cookies and external links. Saved calculator rooms use local storage. Hosting, security and external services have their own data practices. Clicking an Omaha Sports & Games card passes through impact.com to the store, and both may set cookies for the same purpose under their own privacy policies.
