How Much Room Does a Foresight Falcon Need Indoors?

Foresight recommends a ceiling 9.5 to 10.5 feet tall for the Falcon. In its ideal layout, the center of the hitting mat sits about 10 to 12 feet from the impact screen and roughly 4 feet from the Falcon. Because the unit is overhead, it does not need a radar lane behind the golfer, but the ceiling location has to work for the mount, projector, lighting, and both right- and left-handed swings.
The Falcon trades floor space for ceiling planning
A rear-mounted radar unit can take several feet of floor behind the player. The Falcon does not. Its cameras watch the hitting area from above, which makes the room easier to use for both handednesses without moving the launch monitor between shots.
The tradeoff is that the ceiling becomes part of the measurement system. You cannot place the unit wherever a free patch of ceiling happens to exist.
Plan for a 9.5- to 10.5-foot ceiling
Foresight's manual says the ceiling should ideally be 9.5 to 10.5 feet tall. A thick mat or raised platform eats into that, so include it before you mark the mount.
If you measure first and build the floor later, the finished installation can end up lower than you intended.
The hitting area belongs about 10 to 12 feet from the screen
Foresight shows the center of the hitting mat roughly 10 to 12 feet from the impact screen in its ideal layout. The Falcon itself sits about 4 feet from the center of that mat.
Those relationships are more useful than a single "minimum room depth" number because the impact screen may also need clearance behind it. Draw the screen, mat, Falcon, and rear screen gap as separate pieces.
Give the mount a rigid structure
Foresight's manual says to screw the ceiling mount into joists or rafters with lag screws where possible, allows drywall anchors with at least four screws where they are not, and asks that the ceiling area hold at least 75 pounds.
It also says not to install the mount "in a location where vibration or impact shock may occur," which rules out spots near a garage-door opener or other moving hardware.
Check the swing from both sides before drilling
Foresight's layout calls for room to swing for both a left- and right-handed golfer. An overhead launch monitor makes that easier, but it does not create extra width. Test driver swings from the actual hitting position on both sides if both handednesses will use the room.
Also check the projector, lights, enclosure edge, and any ceiling protection.
