How Much Room Does the TruGolf APOGEE Need Indoors?

TruGolf's published room guidance for the APOGEE is short: 9 to 10 feet of height and 15 feet of width for right- and left-handed players. Because APOGEE is an overhead unit, the rest of the room is driven by the golfer, screen, enclosure, and projector instead of a long radar lane behind the ball. A 9-foot ceiling still has to clear your actual driver swing.

APOGEE saves floor depth, but it needs the right ceiling

APOGEE is an overhead launch monitor. It watches the hitting area from above, so there is no separate device sitting six or eight feet behind the golfer.

TruGolf's recommended height is 9 to 10 feet. Measure from the finished hitting surface, not the concrete below a raised mat; a two-inch platform takes two inches away from the swing space.

Do not confuse sensor height with swing clearance

A 9-foot ceiling can satisfy the APOGEE mounting range and still feel too low for a tall golfer with a driver. Test the full swing from the exact mat position before you drill or finish the ceiling.

The projector, lights, ducts, garage-door rails, and other ceiling hardware also have to stay outside the club path. An overhead launch monitor solves one space problem; it does not make those other obstructions disappear.

Fifteen feet of width covers both handednesses

TruGolf's wording is "For Right and Left Handed Players, TruGolf recommends 9-10' H x 15' W," and it asks buyers whose rooms fall short to work with its team.

A home room can be planned around one or two known golfers, but the safe way to narrow it is to test the actual people who will use it.

Fix the hitting position before the projector

Set the impact screen and the hitting position first, then place APOGEE with TruGolf's team. Only after those locations are fixed should you choose the projector position.

Ceiling-mounted launch monitors and projectors often want the same part of the room. Planning them together is much easier than moving either one after the ceiling is finished.

The data set does not change the room requirement

TruGolf lists ball speed, back spin, side spin, vertical launch angle, horizontal launch direction, club head speed, club face angle, and club path, and says APOGEE measures them "without the need for specialty balls or marked clubs."

That makes it a capable practice and simulation system, but room fit remains a separate question. The unit itself is 38 inches wide and weighs about 22 pounds, which matters when you pick the ceiling structure it hangs from.
