How Much Room Does an Uneekor EYE XO Need Indoors?

Uneekor's space guide, illustrated with an EYE XO, asks for at least 13 feet of width, 12 feet from the tee area to the impact screen, and 10 feet of height, plus a couple of extra feet of depth for the swing. The EYE XO mounts overhead in front of the hitting area, so it does not use a long radar lane behind the golfer. When 12 feet to the screen is not possible, Uneekor says 10 feet may suffice if you watch for bounceback.

The room still matters more than the size of the launch monitor

The EYE XO is ceiling-mounted, which keeps the floor around the golfer clear. That helps in rooms where a rear-mounted radar unit would consume too much depth.

It does not make a small room automatically workable. You still need enough width for a normal driver swing, enough depth for the screen and golfer, and a ceiling that supports the required mounting height.

Uneekor's room numbers

Uneekor's figures differ a little by page. The space guide measures its 12 feet from tee area to screen, while the EYE XO2 product page recommends a room 13 feet wide, 16 feet deep, and 10 feet high. For width, the space guide asks for 13 feet wall to wall for full driver swings, "at least 15 ft for golfers 6 ft or taller."

Use those numbers as a planning baseline, not as a guarantee. A golfer with a long or upright driver swing can still need more clearance than the product recommendation suggests.

Give the ball enough room before the screen

Uneekor recommends roughly 12 feet from the impact screen to the tee area when possible. Its support guidance says 10 feet may be workable when 12 feet is not available, with extra caution about ball bounceback.

That measurement starts at the screen face. Add whatever rear clearance the impact-screen manufacturer requires before deciding that the room is deep enough.

Mounting height is not a cosmetic detail

Uneekor's space guide says its overhead units are "designed to be mounted between 9 ft - 10 ft off the ground," measured from the top of the hitting area to the bottom of the mounting bracket. The EYE XO2 manual places that model 3 feet 6 inches in front of the tee position.

Measure from the finished mat or platform, not the bare subfloor. Raising the golfer by two inches also raises the ball by two inches and changes the relationship between the sensor, hitting zone, and ceiling.

Plan the ceiling before you finish the room

The EYE XO needs power and a wired data connection, and Uneekor's mounting guide says to attach the bracket directly to a ceiling joist, so the mount and cable route should be part of the room plan from the beginning. Garage-door hardware, lights, ducts, beams, and storage lifts can all compete for the same ceiling space.

If the room works only after moving the launch monitor away from Uneekor's mounting position, solve that conflict before buying the rest of the simulator.
