What Do Launch Monitor Subscriptions Cost After You Buy?

Published

The annual software fees compared here run from $0 to $599. What matters is whether you want shot data, simulated courses or a connection to software such as GSPro: the hardware price alone does not tell you what those uses will cost. The $0 end means no subscription, while $599 is Foresight+ Gold before any Course Pass.

The FlightScope Mevo+ includes 12 E6 Connect courses without a subscription. The Shot Scope LM1 has no subscription and no course-play mode. Square Golf sells credits instead of a plan and only shows their price inside its app, so it is the one model below without a three-year total.

Prices are US figures checked on October 21, 2026, except the Approach R50's earlier price from this site. The Foresight+, Rapsodo and Full Swing subscription terms were rechecked on November 8, 2026. Third-party software and any Foresight Course Pass cost extra.

What each brand charges

The annual price shown is for the plan named in the third column, assuming that access is not already included with the purchase or an existing license. For Foresight+, that is Gold, which covers third-party software such as GSPro. Foresight's own Premier courses also need a Course Pass, and the Foresight totals below leave the Course Pass out. Totals use list price. Where a sale price was showing on October 21, 2026, it appears in parentheses.

The R50 price comes from an earlier R50 guide on this site and has not been rechecked with Garmin, so the R50 total carries the same limit. For another dated store comparison, Omaha Sports & Games listed the Garmin Approach R50 Premium Golf Launch Monitor and Simulator at $5,099.99 on October 23, 2026; with three years of the $99.99 annual plan, that comes to $5,399.96.

Which subscriptions are required and which are optional

Course play behind a paid plan

Garmin's Home Tee Hero simulator needs an active Garmin Golf membership on the Approach R10 and the Approach R50. The membership comes as a monthly or annual plan, and the annual plan is $99.99 a year. Without it, both units still work on Garmin's virtual driving range, and Garmin gives Approach owners five E6 Connect courses free (Garmin, checked 2026-11-08).

Rapsodo requires its Core membership for simulated courses on mobile and PC, at $199.99 a year, billed yearly with no monthly option. Studios, at $399.99 a year, adds Rapsodo's scanned 4K courses on a PC. A new MLM2PRO comes with a 21-day Core trial, according to the product page on November 8, 2026. Rapsodo's FAQ says practice mode on GSPro, E6 CONNECT, Awesome Golf and The Stack is free, and the other modes need a membership.

SkyTrak splits practice from play on its membership page. Essential costs $99.99 a year and covers the driving range and practice. Course play needs Core at $299.99 a year, or a higher plan.

Bushnell Launch Pro and Foresight GC3 both run on Foresight+, and every tier is billed once a year. Free keeps ball and club data, MyBag and 10 sessions of shot history. Silver costs $199 a year and Gold $599; GSPro and other third-party software need Gold. Premier courses come through a Course Pass, a separate yearly subscription that sits on top of Silver or Gold: $295 for 30-plus courses, or $595 for Course Pass Pro and all 111. A new device gets a 30-day trial that turns into a paid plan unless you cancel.

Uneekor's EYE MINI comes with the free Player package, which covers ball and club data and the VIEW virtual range. Refine courses and the third-party connector start at the Pro tier, $199 a year, billed annually.

No subscription needed

FlightScope includes a 12-course E6 Connect license for iOS and PC with the Mevo+ and says no additional license fee or subscription is required for it. According to FlightScope's FAQ, all Mevo+ data parameters are free, along with firmware updates and software fixes. The Pro Package, Face Impact Location, Badger AI, the Planning Tool and simulation software are paid upgrades. The Pro Package is a one-time purchase, not a yearly fee.

The Full Swing KIT reads its 16 club and ball data points without an unlock, and the Full Swing app for tracking data and video is included free. The paid options are a $99-a-year Premium app and Full Swing Golf for KIT, Full Swing's own course software, at $499 a year. That software comes with KIT Studio PC packages, which start at $11,500. GSPro for PC and e6 CONNECT for iPhone and iPad are sold separately.

The Shot Scope LM1 has no subscription. It reports club speed, ball speed, smash factor, carry and total distance, and syncs sessions to the Shot Scope app. It has no course-play mode.

Credits instead of a plan

Square Golf Home uses credits for course play. Its official help page charges one credit per player per hole and directs buyers to My Account in the app for prices (checked November 2, 2026). Confirm the US dollar price there before budgeting for regular rounds.

Older Foresight packages shipped with FSX software, and that license still counts. If your Foresight account holds FSX 2018, FSX 2020, FSX Play or FSX Pro, Foresight adds Silver and Course Pass at no cost. Owning the launch monitor alone doesn't qualify, and Gold stays a paid upgrade, so the GSPro cost in the table applies either way.

Three-year cost of ownership

Every total in the table uses the same formula:

Three-year total = purchase price + 3 × annual price

For the Approach R10, that works out to $499.99 + 3 × $99.99 = $499.99 + $299.97 = $799.96. The totals assume the annual fee stays the same for three years. They exclude sales tax, shipping and any simulator software bought separately.

The same fees affect each purchase differently over three years:

  • Garmin: Three years of membership cost $299.97 for either unit. That is about 60% of the R10's list price and about 6% of the R50's price (the earlier figure).
  • Rapsodo MLM2PRO: Three years of Core cost $599.97, which is more than the $549.99 sale price. At that sale price, the three-year total is $1,149.96.
  • SkyTrak+: Core adds $899.97 over three years. If range and practice are all you want, Essential adds $299.97, for a total of $3,294.97 at list price. At the $1,995 sale price, the total with Core is $2,894.97.
  • Foresight+ Gold: Gold adds $1,797 over three years on a Launch Pro or GC3. Add the $295 Course Pass for Premier courses and the three-year software bill becomes $2,682. A GC3 bought at its $3,999 sale price comes to $5,796 with Gold alone.
  • Uneekor EYE MINI: Pro adds $597 over three years. At the $2,999 sale price, the total is $3,596.
  • Mevo+ and LM1: For what comes in the box, the purchase price is the three-year total. That is $2,299 for the Mevo+ ($1,099 on sale) and $199.99 for the LM1. The Mevo+ total excludes FlightScope's paid upgrades.
  • Full Swing KIT: Full Swing Golf for KIT adds $1,497 over three years, which puts a KIT Studio at $12,997 from its starting price. A KIT on its own with just the $99 Premium app comes to $5,296.
  • Square Golf Home: Credits are charged per player per hole, so the running cost depends on how many rounds you play.

The sale-price examples assume you buy at the sale price and keep the plan for three years. We don't know how long any of these sales run.

How simulator software stacks on top

A launch monitor plan may be required to send shots to outside software, whose license costs extra. The GSPro, E6 CONNECT and Awesome Golf guides in Read next give those software prices.

On Foresight+, third-party software such as GSPro requires the Gold tier, so a Launch Pro or GC3 owner who wants GSPro pays $599 a year for Gold and the GSPro license on top. Uneekor puts its third-party connector at the Pro tier, so the EYE MINI's free Player package won't connect.

With the MLM2PRO, practice mode on GSPro, E6 CONNECT, Awesome Golf and The Stack costs nothing extra, but the other modes on those platforms need a Rapsodo membership, according to its FAQ. With the Mevo+, the included E6 Connect courses come in the box, and other simulation software is a separate purchase.

Garmin's membership pays for Home Tee Hero, Garmin's own simulator. It is not a license for anyone else's software.

What to check before you buy

For course play at the lowest three-year total in the table, the Garmin Approach R10 comes to $799.96 with the Garmin Golf annual plan. If you would rather pay no yearly fee at all, the R10's five free E6 Connect courses are a small start; the FlightScope Mevo+ includes 12 for $2,299 ($1,099 on sale), and the Shot Scope LM1 gives shot data for $199.99 with no course play. Omaha Sports & Games lists a Bushnell Launch Pro Golf Launch Monitor - Circle B Edition at $2,999.99 (October 23, 2026), the same as Bushnell's list price above; ask the store which Foresight+ tier, if any, comes with that edition.

Don't judge the MLM2PRO's running cost by its first three weeks. The 21-day Core trial ends quickly, and after that simulated courses cost $199.99 a year.

A hardware sale doesn't change the fee. With the MLM2PRO, SkyTrak+, EYE MINI and GC3 all discounted on October 21, 2026, the subscription makes up a larger share of three-year spending than the list-price totals suggest.

Questions to settle before you count a unit as cheap to run:

  • What do Square Golf credits cost for the kind of play you have in mind?
  • If you own an older FSX license, is it linked to your Foresight account so that Silver and Course Pass unlock?
  • What does the Garmin Golf monthly plan cost, and can you cancel between months if you only play indoors in winter?
