What does SaunaBox sell for a home sauna — Solara and SmartSteam?

Published

Summary

SaunaBox sells two kinds of home heat: the Solara full-spectrum infrared cabins, in 1-person and 2-person sizes, and the SmartSteam Pro, a portable steam kit built around a pop-up frame and a steamer. The two ask very different things of a house. A Solara is a freestanding wooden cabin for an indoor room, and the 2-person model needs a dedicated 20-amp outlet. The SmartSteam Pro is a kit you set up and pack away. The prices below identify the store and date so you can distinguish the recorded offers.

Solara infrared cabins

SaunaBox's Solara 2-Person page describes an infrared sauna as one that "uses infrared light to heat your body directly, rather than heating the air." In the Solara, that means heating panels set into a wooden cabinet instead of a stove and rocks. Two sizes were listed when checked on 2026-10-23.

  • Solara 1-Person: listed at $2,799.00, regular price $3,000.00, on its own product page. SaunaBox's page says it plugs into a standard outlet.
  • Solara 2-Person: listed at $3,999.00 on SaunaBox's US store, checked 2026-11-02. It uses a 20A NEMA 5-20 grounded outlet, with 2,073W total power.

SaunaBox gives a full specification for the 2-person cabin. It measures 51"W x 41"D x 71"H outside and 50"W x 41"D x 70"H inside. It is built from "100% Canadian Hemlock" and heated by seven "Carbon Coated ThermoCell Infrared Panels" rated at 1,800W of sauna power. The page gives a top temperature of 158°F, a heat-up time of about 45 minutes, and session timers settable from 0 to 90 minutes. SaunaBox also lists a full-body 660/850nm red light panel among the cabin's components.

SmartSteam portable steam

The SmartSteam Pro needs no room built around it. SaunaBox lists a pop-up frame, a 1600W steamer, a chair, a floor mat and a carry case as included. SaunaBox's store showed two variants on 2026-10-23.

  • SmartSteam Pro: listed at $299.00, regular price $349.00.
  • SmartSteam Pro With Red-Light Therapy: listed at $399.00, regular price $500.00.

At the listed prices, choosing the red-light variant adds $399.00 − $299.00 = $100.00 to the purchase. Compare the contents of those two kits before paying the difference; their prices do not change the need to find a suitable place for steam.

Where a steam kit goes is mostly a moisture question, since steam condenses on nearby walls, floors and furniture. A floor that tolerates water and a room you can air out afterward matter more here than they do with a dry infrared cabin.

Power, space and what is included

The Solara 2-Person needs a 20A NEMA 5-20 grounded outlet. Have an electrician check the intended circuit if you are unsure what is already installed. SaunaBox lists 2,073W total and 1,800W of sauna power; use the total when discussing the electrical load, rather than sizing the circuit from the infrared panels alone. The 1-person cabin is described as using a standard outlet, while the SmartSteam Pro has a 1600W steamer. This site's electrical requirements page and the electrical load planner can help you prepare a list of other loads already on the circuit.

The Solara is for indoor use; SaunaBox says outdoor placement risks damage and voids the warranty. The 2-person cabin's 51 by 41 inch footprint needs to fit near the specified outlet. The maker says the cabin requires no special ventilation installation. That does not establish that every enclosed room is suitable: confirm the room and any clearances against the instructions for the cabin you buy.

On assembly, SaunaBox says the Solara typically takes under 30 to 45 minutes with two people. A Phillips head drill is required, and SaunaBox says no specialized tools or professional installation are needed. For the 2-person cabin, SaunaBox also sells installation as a separate add-on, outside the cabin price.

Delivery, warranty and choosing a format

Delivery and coverage need a separate check before you commit to a cabin. SaunaBox's 2-person page describes the following arrangements:

  • Standard delivery is curbside, so you still need to move the boxes into the room. Confirm the shipping schedule for your address with SaunaBox before arranging help; its delivery information distinguishes order processing from freight delivery.
  • If the cabin is damaged in transit and you did not buy Shipping Protection, a replacement fee of $25 to $500 may apply.
  • A 2-year limited warranty covers the infrared heaters, controls, audio system and wooden cabinetry. The glass door is excluded, and labor is not covered.

If you want a fixed indoor cabin and can provide its specified outlet, consider the Solara 2-Person at $3,999.00 on SaunaBox's US store, checked 2026-11-02. The smaller Solara 1-Person was listed at $2,799.00 on SaunaBox's store, checked 2026-10-23, with a standard-outlet description; confirm its circuit requirements rather than inferring them from the larger model. For a space that must be packed away, the base SmartSteam Pro kit was $299.00 on SaunaBox's store, checked 2026-10-23. Check its placement instructions and the room's moisture tolerance before ordering. This site's home sauna cost page compares the broader installation budgets.
