What types of saunas does Dynamic Saunas offer, and what do they need from the house?

Published

Summary

Dynamic offers infrared cabins, including the compact Barcelona sold as a 1-2 person model. The house needs an indoor space that fits the cabin and a suitable dedicated outlet. Dynamic Saunas ties its general outlet guidance to capacity, but confirm the exact model before arranging electrical work. Home & Heat lists the Barcelona as a 120V plug-in hemlock cabin; its title and capacity field differ, so check the seating layout as well as the room dimensions.

The model families

Dynamic Saunas' general guidance assigns a 20A dedicated outlet to models for three or more people, and a 120V, 15A dedicated outlet to its other models. Use that as an initial filter, then have the model-specific instructions checked before buying. If a compact indoor cabin suits the room and its electrical requirements can be met, consider the Barcelona DYN-6106-01, listed at $1,999 on Home & Heat's store, checked 2026-10-23. Ask Home & Heat to confirm its usable seating: the product title says 1-2 people, while the specifications describe full capacity for one person.

The Barcelona gives a useful example of the space and equipment to check:

  • Dynamic Barcelona 1-2 person, model DYN-6106-01: far-infrared dry sauna, 120V plug-in, reforested Canadian hemlock, six heating panels. Listed at $1,999 on Home & Heat's store, checked 2026-10-23, with free shipping and returns accepted within 30 days of delivery.

Home & Heat gives the Barcelona's exterior as 39 x 36 x 73 inches (width x depth x height), with another 2 inches for the roof overhang. Its interior is 36 x 32 x 67 inches. Use the exterior and overhang to plan the room, and the interior to judge usable seating space. The panels also have to reach that room, so measure doorways and turns in the delivery path before arranging assembly.

The same listing says the Barcelona is for "Indoor use only" and "May be installed on carpet." Home & Heat lists an ideal temperature of 118°F to 132°F and says the cabin can heat up to 140°F.

Outlet and circuit needs

Home & Heat describes the Barcelona's power as "120 V/15 AMP Non GFCI plug & play (Recommend Dedicated Outlet)." That is a plug-in model with no 240-volt hookup, and the seller recommends an outlet that is dedicated to it.

If the intended room needs a new circuit, include that work in the purchase budget before arranging delivery. This site's electrical requirements page and the electrical load planner help you prepare the existing house loads for an electrician's assessment.

Raise the listing's "Non GFCI plug & play" wording with the electrician when you choose the outlet, and settle it before delivery day rather than after the cabin is assembled.

What the low-EMF claim says

The Barcelona is marketed as a low-EMF sauna, but Home & Heat uses inconsistent descriptions on the product page. Ask the seller for the specification and measurement report that apply to the exact cabin being supplied. The report should identify the measurement position and distance from the panels, rather than relying on the product name alone.

A comparison with another brand also needs matching test conditions. Ask who performed each measurement and whether it describes the panel, the seated position or another point in the cabin. This does not resolve the seller's conflicting wording; it gives you a concrete question to settle before treating that wording as a reason to buy.

What is included and what to check

Home & Heat lists six heating panels, interior and exterior LED control panels, a Bluetooth/MP3 sound system, and chromotherapy lighting. Its description makes an absolute claim about the panels never needing replacement. Treat that as sales wording rather than a lifetime service guarantee. Ask what parts and labor the warranty covers if a heating panel fails, and whether a replacement can be supplied for the model you order.

Assembly time is described two ways on the listing. The product description says less than one hour. The FAQ says assembly needs a minimum of two people and that most two-person saunas go together within 90 minutes. Either way, plan for two people and clear the room before the boxes arrive.

The final order should resolve the practical details left by the listing:

  • the exact model and seat layout, together with its specified circuit and outlet
  • the exterior dimensions plus the 2-inch overhang, against the room and the delivery path
  • whether the chosen outlet is dedicated, and what an electrician says about its protection
  • the 30-day return window and who pays to send back a sauna that has already been assembled
