Fully Furnished

Sofas, beds, mattresses, dining tables, rugs and dressers carry real prices read at the shop that sells them, with the date on every row. Every other category is still sample data.

How we make money

Some retailer links here may become affiliate links in the future. As of 7 September 2026, this site is not earning commissions from these links. The plan is to earn a commission when you buy through a link here, and that plan creates a conflict we would rather explain in advance than discover in public.

What decides the order things appear in

This is the most important thing on the page, so it goes first, and it is shorter than it used to be. Inside a category, options are ordered by price, cheapest first, and the one the list starts on is the cheapest that suits the household size you picked. That is the whole rule. There is no score, no weighting and no ranking anywhere on this site.

Until 6 September 2026 this page published a three-input ranking formula, and the site showed a “chosen by N% of lists” share on every option. Two of those three inputs were never counted and the third could not be: the home you build is never sent to us, so no list has ever been tallied here, and we do not hold retailer review counts. The formula and the shares have been removed rather than reworded. The second page is now Starter picks — ten categories, one option each, chosen by us and labeled as our choice.

What is deliberately not an input, then or now: the commission rate, the commission amount, whether a brand has ever contacted us, and any opinion of ours about quality. Nothing any brand can pay for moves anything on this site.

The conflict, stated plainly

No program has approved this site yet, so nothing here earns anything today. When one does, commission will be a percentage of the sale, so an expensive item will earn us more than a cheap one. A $3,000 sofa can pay more than twenty $99 lamps. That is a real incentive to push you upmarket, and you should read every page on this site with it in mind.

Three things we do about it: the default choice in every category is the cheapest option that fits your household size, not the most expensive; the running-cost figure exists partly to make cheap-to-buy, expensive-to-own items look as bad as they are; and commission is not an input to any ordering on the site. A fourth, from 6 September 2026: the site now carries a budget box, and a list that goes over the budget you set is marked over, in red, however much we might prefer you spent it.

Who runs this

Fully Furnished is run by Kaz, a pen name. It is one individual, not a company, and not a team. Kaz also runs several other comparison sites in unrelated subjects; the sites do not link to each other or quote each other, and none of them share data.

We do not publish a postal address, a telephone number or an email address, because a one-person operation cannot safely publish a home address and cannot staff a phone. Every message goes through the contact form and is answered within two business days.

Programs we are in

None yet. No affiliate program has approved this site, so no link on this site currently carries a tracking tag and nothing here earns anything. When that changes, every approved program will be named in this section, and only approved ones — we will not list applications we have made.

How links are marked

Once programs are approved, every link that can earn us money will carry rel="sponsored nofollow". Links that earn us nothing will carry rel="nofollow". You can check this yourself in your browser's page source; if you ever find a link that pays us and is not marked, tell us and we will fix it and say so here.

The price you pay is the store's normal price. Commission is paid by the retailer out of its own margin. Nothing on this site is more expensive because you arrived through us.

Where the numbers come from

Prices are read by hand, off the shop's own product page, one row at a time. No feed, no API and no scraper is involved, and we do not know whether anything is in stock. Each row carries the date it was read, and a row read more than a week ago says on its face that the shop may have moved the price since. If a program we join later permits a feed, this paragraph changes before the data does. Electricity figures come from EIA data and manufacturer specifications. The sizing rules are common US rules of thumb, listed in full on what size fridge, washer and sofa a home needs. We do not estimate a number we could not find; we leave it out and say so.

Sofas, beds, mattresses, dining tables, rugs and dressers hold prices read at the shop, dated on each row: 22 August 2026 for the sweep, and up to 7 September 2026 for the 85 rows read again since. The other categories still hold illustrative prices and say so on every row. This notice will be removed when every category has been checked at the shops, and not one minute before.

Corrections

If a price, a specification or a claim on this site is wrong, send it through the contact form with the page and what is wrong. Corrections are made within two business days and the change is noted on the page it affects.

Privacy, in one line

We set no cookies and use no third-party analytics. We count six named events ourselves, with no identifier attached, and the privacy page lists all six. The home you build is kept in your own browser so it is still there next time, and the list itself is never sent to us. The contact form is handled by a third party, Formspree. The full detail is on the privacy page.
