The plan is to earn a commission when a reader uses a lender or a home service we have linked to. It costs the reader nothing extra. Until a program approves us, every link here is unpaid, and it is labeled that way.

manufacturers, government data and our own pages are ordinary links. They carry
rel="noopener" for security, and nothing else, because nobody pays for them.

a short disclosure sentence beside the link itself and not only on this page, and the banner at
the top of every page will change to say some links are commercial.
Compensation can vary by provider and by action: a percentage of a sale, a flat fee for a completed form, or a fee for a qualified enquiry. Some of those pay more when you spend more. Knowing that, you should read any recommendation on any site — including this one — with that in mind.
Commission does not decide order or wording. Every style page carries its downsides. The costs page refuses to print a headline number, which is the opposite of what maximizes clicks.
We do not add a separate charge for using a link here. Pricing, offers and eligibility are set by the provider, and we cannot promise that every provider's terms through a link will match every route to that provider.
