How much does a large stainless steel sculpture cost?

In this retailer's catalog, a 36-inch (91 cm) stainless steel sculpture lists at a median of $39,000, and the same designs at 108 inches (274 cm) at a median of $299,000. Those prices are for the piece alone; delivery, a base or footing and installation are quoted separately.

What the numbers cover

This is desk research on one retailer's listings, not a market survey. We read the list prices of 114 large-format pieces on ArtZMiami (artzmiami.com) on Oct 20, 2026, as shown to US visitors in US dollars. Most are polished 316 stainless steel sold in fixed heights, and the store lists many of them as limited editions, often of five.

Each piece is counted at its smallest and largest listed size. Pieces whose smallest size is 19.6 in (50 cm) appear only in the 108-inch row.

Price rises faster than height

For the 79 designs offered at both 36 and 108 inches, tripling the height multiplies the list price by 4.1 to 9.5 times, with a median of 6.1 times. A piece three times as tall has roughly nine times the surface to form, weld and polish, so the price does not track height in a straight line.

That makes the size decision bigger than the choice of design. At one height, most designs sit within a few tens of thousands of dollars of each other; the same design one size up can cost several times as much.

Costs that are not in the list price

A 9-foot steel sculpture travels by freight, and outdoors it needs a base it can be bolted to. The list price covers neither. Before ordering, ask the store for the delivered price to your address, whether the piece ships crated with a mounting plate, and what happens if it arrives damaged or you want to return it. For an outdoor piece, a local contractor will also need its weight to size the footing.

The lowest-priced 108-inch piece in this set is the Stainless Steel Palm Tree Sculpture at $129,000.
